TASTY TINGS JAMAICAN PATTIES
is a woman-of-color owned & operated small business that serves the larger San Francisco & Oakland Bay Area. Tasty Tings offers an array of delicious Jamaican patties, yummy sauces, & the occasional Jamaican-style plates for grab & go, catering, & pop-up events.
STARTING POINT
When Alyssa brought me on to work on Tasty Tings, she had nothing but a dream, some tasty patty recipes, & a logo, designed by San Francisco-based tattoo artist, Olivia Olivier. It was my job to build out her brand & visual identity around her logo, with the intention to bridge the gap between her patty business, & her effervescent personality that returning customers can't get enough of.
My first design requests for Tasty Tings was a large scale event banner & a business card. The time spent producing these deliverables doubled as an exploration for font pairings, colors, & overall visual identity.
To expand on the playful logo illustration, I drew up some illustrations of my own to showcase each of the patty flavors & sauces.
In collaboration with my team at @Me Design, I directed a photoshoot at our studio in Alameda, with Alexe Reyes as our brilliant Photographer, & Melina Luz Orendain-Baeza as our rockstar Set Assistant.
